Level 2 Sea Kayaking Course
This 3-day course is designed for paddlers looking to refine their sea kayaking skills in moderate to challenging conditions. Successful completion indicates that you have the personal skill and judgment to undertake day or multi-day journeys in environments with winds up to Beaufort Force 5.
Who This Course Is For
This course is ideal if you:
- Want to improve confidence in wind, waves, and dynamic environments
- Have started learning bracing, self-rescue, and surf landings
- Are preparing for more advanced expeditions and want rough-water experience
What You’ll Learn
Training focuses on real conditions and includes:
- Launching and landing in moderate surf
- Maneuvering through rock gardens and confused seas
- Safety protocols, rescue techniques, and self-assessment
- Fine-tuning boat control, edging, posture, and trim
- Navigation awareness and route planning
🌊 Training takes place along the rugged coastline of Crete, known for its cliffs, caves, and reliable sea-state-4 conditions.
Course Details
- Duration: 3 days (10:00–16:00)
- Cost: 350€ per person
- Group Size: Max 4 participants
- Kayaks Provided: NDK, Valley, 3kymia, P&H
- Location: Usually Ligaria Bay → Mades/Fodele (weather dependent)
- Rough-water conditions are almost guaranteed; otherwise we choose an alternate site
