Sunset Trip

The starting point of our sunset trip is available only from our base in Ilingas beach (click here for driving instructions). It takes place in the national park of Samaria, a place not to be missed. We start at 6 pm and finish around 8-8:15 pm during the summer months. There is some flexibility on the starting time and upon request can be arranged even in the mornings. From September to May the trip starts at 4:30 pm due to have less day light.
The group should be on the beach 10-15 minutes earlier.
It is possible to run the trip during the winter months too uppon request.
After basic kayaking instruction, we will start paddling towards Sweet water beach (Glyka Nera). There are no roads thus no other way to reach that beach apart from a sea kayak and a boat of course.  There will be enough time to visit a sea cave and snorkel in the crystal clear water of the beach. Snorkel equipment is included in the price.
The trip due to its short distance is suitable for anyone including participants without any experience in a sea kayak, ideal for families too.

About Glyka Nera beach

Glyka nera is a stunning beach also known as Sweetwater Beach on account of the fresh water that bubbles up through the pebbles and sand.
Sweetwater beach has to be one of the best places to pass a few hours on the southern coast of Crete.
The crystal clear sea and the pristine beach (no unsightly buildings in view) make for a day, or even a few hours of relaxing in paradise.
The only way to get there is by boat, hike or sea kayak of course.

1lt of water, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, swimsuit and any t-shirt ideally with UV protection. You will also need shoes that you do not mind getting soaked as you will get your feet wet. Ideally, a light neoprene shoe will work great. Is is not required to wear shoes but they will help as the majority of the beaches are with small rocks.
Check out the following link for the exact meeting point, it is at Ilingas beach, just 1.8 km west from Chora Sfakion.
Use the booking form that exists on this page.
For this particular trip and also the Sfakia (full day trip) we accept only payment in cash. This has to do with the fact that there is only one ATM in town that does not always work and we have to drive 2 hours to withdraw money from the nearest bank.
