Our guided via ferrata trip offers a thrilling yet accessible introduction to vertical adventure in the stunning Asterousia mountain range, located in the southern Heraklion region.
This via ferrata is ideal for individuals with some prior experience in rock climbing or a general comfort with heights. While the route includes a safety wire and iron steps throughout most of its length, offering excellent support, there are some exposed sections that require a steady mindset and good physical fitness.
Climbing experience is recommended but not mandatory — our experienced guides will ensure you feel secure every step of the way.
A Scenic Climbing Experience for Adventurous Souls
The route begins near the mountain village of Kapetaniana, perched at 800 meters altitude, offering spectacular views of the Libyan Sea and surrounding peaks.
What Is a Via Ferrata?
A via ferrata (“iron path”) is a protected route equipped with a fixed steel cable, plus iron rungs, ladders, and steps.
Climbers use a harness and via ferrata lanyard system to clip into the cable for safety.
All climbing equipment (harness, helmet, via ferrata set) is provided by Enjoy-Crete.

Pickup is available only from Heraklion (Talos Plaza area).
Transfers from other regions may be arranged at extra cost.

Yes — but you must be:
- Reasonably fit

I’m experienced — can I rent via ferrata sets?
Yes. Experienced via ferrata users can rent a Via Ferrata Set for 40€.
Includes:
- 2 via ferrata kits
- 2 helmets
Minimum participants?
Trips require 3 participants.
Solo travelers may join by covering the remaining cost if fewer sign up.
